Some releases of Project Analyzer ship with new management views, or with updates to existing management views -- for instance, the Project Analyzer 3.5 release added the "Budget vs. Actual", "Planned Labor Revenue", and "Planned Labor Revenue (Detailed)", none of which were available in previous versions, and the Project Analyzer 4.6.2 release made significant updates to the existing "Version in Use" view.

Each of these additions and updates to Project Analyzer's management views are provided as individual XML files, and are not installed on your system during the database upgrade process.  Instead, you may import them into your Analyzer database using the Management View Editor in Connection Manager.  To accomplish this, follow the steps outlined below.  Please note that you may also use the same process to install management view files provided to you by third parties other than Planifi.

1.  Locate the file containing the management view data.  This file's name should end with the extension ".ManagementView.xml".

2.  Place this file in a location that is accessible to your copy of the Project Analyzer Connection Manager.

3.  Open Connection Manager and navigate to the "Management Views" tab.

4.  Click the "Import" button on the main toolbar (highlighted in red in the screenshot below).

5.  A file selection dialog will appear.  Navigate to the management view XML file you identified in Step 1.  Select this file and click "Open".

6.  The new management view should appear in the list, as highlighted in red below.  In this example, we have just installed the "Budget vs Actual" management view from the Project Analyzer 3.5 update package.

7.  Click the "Save Changes" button on the main toolbar to save the newly installed management view to the database.  You may now exit Connection Manager and access the newly installed view in Project Analyzer itself.
